I'm back. It's been a long summer and I've spent my tim enjoying the short but beautiful swedish summer, rather than updating my blog. We spent a few weeks at our summer house by the lake, where we have this gorgeous view.
In watercolor (Winsor Newton, artist's quality, don't remember what kind of paper though)
In ink (Lamy Safari pen, on some crappy paper I found in a cupboard)
And as comparison, the same subject from three years back. What do you say? Personally I must say that I think I've done a bit of progress since then!

Wow, definitely great progress! Just look at the water in the first one, it's got so much depth! And the leaves! I also like the one in ink a lot! Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteSketches look great, definitely lots of progress
ReplyDeleteDid you do the ink before the watercolour?
No doubt at all about progress! Lovely sketches! I particularly love the tree trunk in ink !
ReplyDeleteYes, I see progress in your work (though the old piece is great too). One of the fun parts of making art is seeing progress over time. I like the tree on the crappy paper the best. :) What a lovely place to draw and paint!
ReplyDeleteThere's a distinct improvement from the oldest version to the new one, the colors are richer and the tones are fuller. I really like the ink version too =)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and welcome back!
Yes, indeed - welcome back! Wonderful progress, that's for sure. Your summer home really does have a lovely view, and you rendered it beautifully! nancy
ReplyDeleteI like both the drawings---the 2nd one is very different and graphic--the first one.. I can almost feel I'm there..
ReplyDeleteYeap, I see some major improvement! I love the ink sketch! And the view is fabulous - also IRL ;)
ReplyDeleteFabulous progress!! And I love the pen sketch too!
ReplyDeleteTremendous progress.

ReplyDeleteWell done!
ReplyDeleteLove pen sketch, it's beautiful
I can't wait to see more of your drawings! :)
I like the two last pictures you made, and the view from your summer home is beautiful, just how I remember good old summers in Sweden... One of teh things I love living here in Canada, reminds me a lot of Sweden. Skona harliga sommar : )
